Other products of biotechnology include a whole host of drugs that are produced by genetic engineering of bacteria. For example, nearly all insulin used by diabetics is now produced by engineered bacteria. Too, erythropoetin to prevent anemia in chemotherapy patients, growth hormone and lots of others are produced this way. Several monoclonal antibody based drugs are a product of biotechnology, too. If you consider a broader definition of "biotechnology", then many food additives, vitamins and other substances, like high fructose corn syrup, and ethanol from corn are products of biotechnology.
