I totally agree. Firstly, the standard of refereeing has been appalling - players booked for what wouldn't even be a free kick normally. All because FIFA want to appear PC and have referees who have zero experience of officiating top class matches. As for england, I'm getting tired of hearing "we'll get better" - sven has been saying that since the first game, and we've had no improvement. Too much in the players pocket, picks his favourites, tactically inept, and to top things off takes four strikers - two who aren't 100% fit and one child who hasn't played a premiership match!

I don't, it's as nerve-wracking, and exciting as any other World Cup; England isn't the only team playing, just watch some others play, and even though you might not support them, it's still exciting to watch. Spain, and Argentina have been particularly good, even though I hate saying that about the Argies.

The best match I have watched so far is Argentina V Mexico, nail-biting til the very end. And watching Wayne Rooney nutmeg the same player twice was a great pleasure. Quality.

I disagree.
1. It's better to avoid early sentences on playing in this stage. Many teams have players shared all over the world, they could easily improve in tactics training together.
Other teams have players tired by 60-70 official matches (national tournament, national cup, champion's league and so on). Now, victories feed morale. And to go toward the goal increase the will. Many teams really hasn't started to play yet. We all are waiting for Brazil.
2. This maybe the best world cup in organization and teams tactics. Matches played by Argentina and Germany could easily fill the coaches handbook. As side effect, there are few highlight for single players. Argentina won an impressive match against SRC, but I can't really outline a single player in the team.
Minor teams are better organized than in the past too.

So I think... the best matches are next to come!!!

What?! Maybe for Brasil, who r supposedly the best footballing nation. But have you seen any matches? Ghana only their first time in this competition has gotten this far!! And don't get me started about that Portugal vs Netherlands match!! It was certainly entertaining but brutal in the case. I'm saying it's not the best World Cup ever but it sure hasn't been a let down!!

I also agree, the results were so predictable so far, no big surprises and stuff (well, a few).

The group matches were kinda boring, with most teams trying to "get a win" and not do their best. It is kinda boring to see the full defense and counter attacks on every game, it seems like all coaches don't like to take chances, and only play on the opponent's mistake. I have seen very few (compared to the number of games) "attack strategies" so far, most of them are "counter-attack strategies", and when one teams goes for full attack and pressure the other goes on counter-attacks.

Where is the creativity of the coaches? I wish there were more teams willing to PLAY the game instead of just winning it.

And about the cards, I totally agree with them, anti-game attitudes (like trying to delay everything when your winning) should be heavily punished, we don't want to see faults or injured players, but a fair game (that they all can play). If they only punished fakes AFTER the game, like banning for 3 games who pretended he received a fault but didn't, then it would be interesting.

There have been a few drab matches (Ukraine Switzerland!) and enough red and yellow cards to make this tournament remembered forever as the Violent World Cup, but there have been some amazing goals! (Frings, Lahm, Deco, Gerrard. Cole, Cambiasso, Pirlo) So who knows! Still too early to decide. I PRAY the final isn't Brazil v Germany again!!

very much so, there's nobody that really sticks out at the moment, which may be a good thing-if we start pulling our socks up and start playing properly! It annoys me that England players are playing like amateurs but yet there wage packet shows that they are supposed to be among the best in the world!

I agree.......its not like last time. Moreover, most European countries has qualified to the knockout stages where almost all of them play likewise. There should be more Afirican and Asian countries as well in the knockout stages......I'm sure it would have been more challenging and different game play from what we are watching now.............
