Because it's easier to look in on someone elses life, pick it apart and analyse it...but when it comes to your own, you don't have the nerve to see beneath it all enough, to be able to realise you need the advice in the first place!

Well, its a matter of concern though. But nevertheless people show empathy towards others and hence the advice. While its difficult in most cases to find , the person who giving advice following it himself. Only a person facing a situation in life can sense the intensity of it, others cannot - just by passing a word or two of advice gives a sort of solace. In most cases i`ve come across, the same advice/thoughts an individual has for himself gains weight-age , when another person conveys the same message. Basically its a matter of confidence and social bonding.

because its easier to look at someone elses situation from the outside and judge, in ur own relationship for example u don t see what other people do and even if u do see the bad or the wrong u dont want to admit it cos ud rather believe everythings ok so as not to ruin anything

It is easier to say than it is to do. I have given people advice and then thought, hey that's exactly what I should do, but it was just not practical for me or I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I have also known people to give advice which they ought to take themselves but don't even realise they need to take the advice.

because its hard to look at your own problem the same way as you would look at someone else problem/dilemma from a outsiders point of view. easily said but not so easily done!
