Open the container wherein resides the document.
Right click the file.
Choose rename from the list.
Change the extension (the three letters after the dot[.] from doc to txt.
OPen the document in note pad.
Press CTRL - SHIFT and then right arrow once to highlight the first block of code in the document.
Copy it and then delete it.
Save the file and close it.
Open a new text file and paste the code you deleted into it. Call it code.txt and save it with your original document.

You can now change the original document's extension back to *.doc and open it with Word.

Passwords can only be changed or deleted by the user that put the password on the file.

If you are on the same pc that created the file, the System Administrator User can probably change the password. If it is a different pc, I am not sure.

The best thing is to ask the person that created the file for the password. They are the one that wanted the file protected.

if someone else has set the pwd,.. and its their document. then u should not try to view it without their permission. jst ask the person to tell u the pwd and that u want to see that document.
