Your doctor/ psychologist/ physiotherapist would suggest that you partake in physical excersize for at least 45minutes three times a week to maintain good health.

10km would take you around 5 minutes per Km, meaning that you be spending 50minutes excersizing, not including stretching. As far as activity goes, this sort of excersize would mean that the person doing the activity is 'very active'. In terms of overall health, you would need to know more about the individuals other health habits such as sleeping patterns, liquid intake, social realtionships, stress levels, eating habits... though it is probable that this person would have good overall health if they are engaging in such disciplined activity.

I would say you are either active to very active - whether you are the former or the latter depends on what you do on the days when you are not running and whether you have a sedentary job/lifestyle other than the running.

Although you run 10-12km a day, Government recommendations are that we each should walk at least 10,000 steps a day. Granted most of us walk (rather than run this distance!) but 10km would be in keeping with this advice (going on the basis that 1,000 steps is about a km - well, 1,000 of mine are!). The fact that you can run that distance means you must be reasonably fit but to gain maximum benefit from your running, you would also need to have a reasonably active lifestyle around this.

I do 15km per week and I consider myself moderately active. Therefore I consider whoever does 48km per week to be a proper athlete and 'very active'.
