People who are professionally trained to carry out a complimentary therapy are insured by an awarding body. If you ever go to get a complimentary therapy then the professional should have all their certificates on show so you know that they're qualified and which awarding body their insured by.

Although it would be helpful to have financial assistance with alternative medicine, it would cause a lot more regulation and eventually the same situation that exists with pharmaceutical companies now. Alternative medicine is all about prevention first, which should matter to insurance companies, but somehow cost cutting for increasing profit leaves prevention out. There would be more research, more cost, and more regulation.
