"God Save The Queen" is the British national anthem. There isn't an English national anthem. And just to confuse things, "Rule Britannia" is the national anthem of Great Britain (as opposed to the British National Anthem). No, I don't get it either.
"God Save The Queen" needs a melody transplant. It's the most depressing sounding national anthem ever.
Fierce patriotism isn't necessarily a good thing. Hitler demanded it of the German people from 1933-1945.
And now I'm going to go and audition for "Grumpy Old Men".

I have to say you're all wrong Ecuador and the smaller countries all sing much more just the other countries have far more supporters because they can afford the trip to Germany to watch!
And most of the smaller countries all know the words to their national anthems and the english only know the 1st three lines!!!

I think the italians give it a damn good blast, and it helps that their anthem is a little bit jolly!
I think the english anthem is probably the loudest because we seem to get the most fans into a stadium, well apart from the germans obviously!

Germany , i assume and that i dont think of english actual everyone seems to be making a music with delight nd pastime cos I easily have seen particularly couple of our gamers no longer making a music in any respect.Does that recommend dat dey dont knw our national Anthem , and definitely one of dem is Rooney.

The welsh, definitely, their anthem is loads better than ours (english) and when i was at the Rugby Six-Nations England v. Wales, i don't think i've ever seen men get so emotional!

The Welsh at rugby matches and any other Welsh rugby song. If we can't win through skill and determination we'll sing the opposition into submission especially the English!

i think no-one can beat the english national anthem. when you hear all the others before the game they all seem well boarin n no words then you hear the english n everyone knows it. it just blows your mind away

awww bless! just about everybody sings better than then the English ( you lot cant even pronounce your own countries name properly its England not Eng ger land) . Dont worry though, we all understand that because youre english you dont know any better :D
