If you enjoy it, then it's bad! I personally like chevies and have built my own. I took a 1991 Caprice Classic and put a 2000 model 350 roller motor in it along with bigger injectors, K & N intake, full-flow dual exhaust, etc. It was a real sleeper (looked like a grandmother's car) until the rears lit up. I would suggest losing the '83 engine in the future and go with newer small block like LS1 to LS6. Over 400HP out of the box ain't too shabby. Keep of record of all the work you do along with pictures. Sometimes it's great to look back on what you started with and then see how far you've come. Good luck.

Oh, please. Neither 1979 nor 1983 were good years for Chevy.
A 1973 De Tomaso Pantera I work with came prepped for high-performance driving from the factory.
It's got the 351 Cleveland/4bbl carb engine and gets rubber in all gears...without trying at all. It'll set off car alarms a block and a half away when you drop the clutch.
I think that's more bad *** than yours will ever be. AND it's a Ford product.

It's a good start the doors are real heavy on those cars lose some weight and throw the 305 h.o if it is a h.o motor out and get a LT-1 or LS-1` or a LS-2 that will really help it.

It sounds ok. I think an 83 monte carlo ss still only had a 305 in it though, which isn't so hot. If it did happen to be a 350, then you may have something, and since you did some work on it, it's probably a decent engine regardless.

I have owned cars of almost all brands: Chevy's are the best: They are easier to work on,and more dependable: I think you have a good car there.

I only came to answer this cuz I saw Chevrolet there. Anything Chevy is AWESOME. I love the older ones too because they were built with solid bodies. Everything now is fiberglass and plastic.
