Don't take the opinion of a comedian so seriously. Only Bryant Gumbel could make himself look like Malcolm X. And there's no comparison between the two. I think Malcolm X was a racist, but he was also a great man. Bryant Gumbel reads from a telepromptor, Wayne Brady and Dave Chappele have writers, Malcolm X spoke from what he believed in his heart and mind, stood up for "his people" and what he believed in, and that is what made him a great man.

Heck No! Did you see the other episode of the Chappelle show where Wayne shot Dave and was generally terrorizing people? Funny as heck. Maybe his best skit ever. I think the truth lies somewhere in between.
By the way have you noticed Bryant Gumbel lately? This man is getting blacker and madder. Dissing the winter olympics and the world cup. Even hockey as BS sports noone is watching. Airing stories about racism in sports like the soccer crowds that threw banana peels on the field saying their lone black player was a monkey. And he is airing stories about black athletes and issues that paint a more rounded picture of black culture as it is reflected in sports. I'm proud of the brother. I guess when you get so old and your contract is so airtight you are finally able to show the real you.
This goes back to black folks (including these two) having to conform to the majority culture's idea about what they want from them in order to succeed. To get ahead in the corporate job you gotta play golf. you gotta wear brookes brothers suits. you gotta be charming and appealing (and maybe a little effeminate) so as not to be seen as a sexual threat (read he wont touch the white women when we are out of the room).
Black people have known throughout history that there is a persona that is used when dealing with the man and another when at home with your people. If slavery taught black folks anything it taught them to adapt and survive.
Don't hate on the brothers that are trying to get up in there like that. And dont believe the hype when someone questions their race card.

Yes he did!!! He was shuckin' and jivin'
Bryant Gumbel was the #1 Oreo on TV but Wayne Brady surpassed him when he had his own show and would sing his show tunes and stuff.
I need to stop because I don't believe in the whole "acting Black" thing, but just to answer this question, I'LL GO THERE.

No! If Bryant Bumble were the last black man on earth, he would still be white. (sorry that was mean, but I have TRIED to tolerate the man, but I simply have failed) Wayne Brady is an excellent entertainer. Too bad the stereotype of a positive black person being a sellout still exists. Too bad.
