There are on-line courses teaching negotiation skills and companies who specialise in giving courses for people in business.
The core skills are the same as used in everyday negotiation or for negotiating a big business deal, just adapted to suit the occasion. Below is a company offering specialised courses and a couple of free on-line course sites.
"Negotiation is something that we do all the time and is not only used for business purposes. For example, we use it in our social lives perhaps for deciding a time to meet, or where to go on a rainy day"

"Negotiation", is not a learned skill so much as it is the ability to make someone think they are getting the better end of a "win win" situation. Using far-sight and inevitability to take advantage one's near-sightedness is common among car-dealers or any other common con-artist. Above all, action speaks louder than words; you need to appeal to one of or all of a person's five senses. The sense smell above all has the strongest impact on a person's psychology and ability to read a situation. Did this help? Was English your first language?

Its about understanding the basics of psychology so that you can almost 'trick' the other side into seeing your point of view. A lot of self help books for business people claim they can teach you this but the best way would be to observe other people negotiating and see what tricks and techniques they use to be sucessful. Always being polite and respectful are crucial though to avoid conflict.
