Do you think it's the sweetest closest love relationship or do you find it the saddest and one of the most damaging things that could happen to any human being?

Any and all people need (NEED) to be independant first in order to have a relationship where you can do for the other person as well. It's the 50% 50% deal.

When ever I have seen a 90% 10% relationship it has never worked.

SAD

Like all human extreme behaviour, we would call emotional dependency "unhealthy". There is no way of measuring emotional dependency so how do we determine whether a person is indeed too dependent? I guess we can answer by figuring out how it affects others around you. It can be damaging when you have made a partner the centre of your being and forget about all other friends and family members. When your partner is taken out of the picture, for whatever reason, it will be difficult to rebuild lost relationships. In all things, be moderate.

Dear
two things u have mentioned for emotional dependency is correct because it depends upon human perception.Emotional attachment plays a major role in achieving success but if some one near & dear one of urs left u then u may take it positively but if u r longing for him & waisting ur time for him then that will damage ur carrier. So Emotional dependency can give u everything in ur life or can spoil ur life it depends how u perceive.

I thinks some emtional dependency is okay if you know where you end and where the other person begins. One must maintain a good sense of self before making emotional commitments. Mary Beth GRaves

It is a sign of co-dependence. Those who cannot help themselves need gentle guidance to learn how to do so. It is sometimes excruciating watching someone go through the process...of realizing that they can't stand up on their own. But once they learn, look out! ;) It's all part of human development.
