Do you respond when questioned? If people say this to you just to get a response, don't play their game.
If you don't bite they will soon lose interest in trying to bait you.
You know what you are. The problem lies with others.

If even gay people see you as gay acting, then surely you act more gay than, perhaps, you think you do?
Perhaps you're metrosexual (just an attitude not a sexual orientation)? Do you take really good care of your appearance...?
If you're old enough to go to a gay bar (even sneak into one) then I would imagine that you have an idea about sex and sexuality. How comfortable are you with yours (don't answer me!)?
I not qualified to speak for the het & bi-girls - but I'd imagine that some would find your attitude/appearance attractive and others would prefer a more macho type.
Of course, get a girlfriend you can carry on your arm and the world will know better. Ultimately, the only people who need to know, who and what you are, are you and the person you end up with.
Good Luck

Well i'm a guy but I thought id answer. Obviously the problem is peoples perceptions of gay guys. Most people dont know anyone who is openly gay and base their opinion of gays on stereotypes. Stereotypes about gays arent very accurate, sure there is some that fit the stereotype but a whole lot more that dont. The stereotypical ones are just the ones that stick out, the extremists. Most gay guys are as masculine as most straight guys. And some straight guys look and appear "gay". Sexuality really has nothing to do with it. There is no gay look because most gays are the same in their appearance and mannerisms as straights. What there is is a camp look, which most gays are not and some straights are, like you. So you dont act gay you act camp (effeminate) even if just a bit and you just need to correct people it must be annoying but people are very ignorant and stupid about this issue!

First of all, not to be a jerk, but it's a bit hard to come here to a bunch of people who don't have a choice regarding heterosexual privelidge, and looking for sympathy / help in that you might be losing some of yours. How big a deal is it if people think so; specially if you know otherwise?
If you're really worried about it, ask your gay friend, and maybe some of his friends, what specifically sends that signal. Adjust as needed.

Don't let it get to you! When I first met my husband my all friends and I thought he was gay. We even tried to set him up with my best gay friend! Well, at the end of the night it was extremely apparent that he was not gay when he leaned in and kissed me. We were all shocked! I absolutely adore him.

I used to have that problem. It would drive me crazy when people would think I was gay. I wasn't having sex with men! I was dating girls... I didn't even know anybody who was gay... how could I be gay? I thought they were so stupid.

I understand fully where u are coming from. I dont think you are gay, maybe you are just a metrosexual. Metrosexuals like to take care of themselves, and alot of people dont understand this. Or maybe you are a little feminine, and people dont understand.

nah..it doesn't bother me that you're gay,,:D
well..i'm not sure what u should do..but maybe have a talk with those people to see if they're joking or not..if they are then tell them what you feel and that it bothers you..
if they're serious...well..explain to them you're not..
if a girl acts all tough and such does that make her a lesbian? it's the same with guys..if they get manicures..pedicures or whatever that doesn't make them gay!!!
damn..:D hope this helped..
