yes the days will get shorter now in september in date 20 or so the day will be of 12 hours and so will be the night also.
in december the nigth will be the longest about 14 hours nigth and 10 hours day
then again in march there will be 12 hours day and 12 hours night

The longest day was the first day of summer after that the daylight will get progressively shorter and shorter until the First day of Winter then the daylight will get progressively longer and longer until the First day of Summer.
