Not white. White was made popular for wedding dresses by Queen Victoria when she married her Albert. There's a great eBay store, Xhma, or something like that, that sells really great wedding/special event dresses. They currently have one in red with white trim that has nice lines that are very close to something 12th-13th century. Rent the DVD Ivanhoe and you'll get the idea of the correct lines for that period (or the Brother Cadfiel series). If you're thinking more Queen Elizabeth I THAT's Renaissance, not medieval. Look at eBay Item #s 8290982778 and 8290282219. These are two nice examples of the lines evoking that time.
