In the year 200 the third basemen for the New York Yankees was Scott David Brosius. In 135 games, he hit .230 with 16 home runs and 64 runs batted in on 108 hits. It was the second to last year with the Yankees and for the career for Scot Brosius, who would retire at the age of 34 in 2001. The Yankees acquired Scott Brosius on November 18, 1997. Scott was the player to be named later when the Yankees sent Kenny Rogers to Oakland on November 7. In the year 2000, Bosius made $5,250,000 and won his third consecutive World Series with the Yankees. Against the Mets in the World Series, he hit .308 with 1 Home Run and 3 RBI. He also scored two runs. In four World Series, Scott hit .314 raising his .257 career average to another level. When he retired, Brosius had won 11 post season series, and lost just 1 (2001 World Series in seven games to the Arizona Diamondbacks)
