I'm 37 years old, about 6'1" and weigh around 290lbs. I want to lose at least 40 to 50 lbs. which for me is my ideal weight. Some people say I look too skinny when I lost that much weight before, but I want to be there again. What is the best diet?

One that you can stick with! Also, regular exercise. Every person is different so you just have to do what is right for you. My husband likes Atkins, but that is just too much meat for my taste.

Don't be concerned with what you eat. It's more about a change in life-style. I was there too, you just gotta find pleasure in different things besides eating. It will be hard at first, but your best investment will be a pair of running shoes and discipline. Don't let the fancy equipment at the gym fool you, running and swimming are the best ways to lose weight. Smoking may also help, as long you're not both over-eating and smoking at this point

change your life style. get rid of all the junk food in the house. Bring healthy snacks like a sliced up apple to work. Drink lots of water if you do not like plain water add lemon juice lime juice cranberry juice or grapefruit juice. Make sure you use the 3/4 water to 1/3 juice ratio. Eat Salads Walk a little more each day. Lift weights slowly at least twice a week for ten minutes.

Instead of a diet, why don't you re-assess your lifestyle and eat wisely. You will then maintain the right weight for your size.
I eat as much as I want BUT my golden rule is NEVER to eat anything after 6pm, from six, only water or a cup of tea (not coffee). Magic. I have tried to stop eating at 5pm but that proved difficult.
Do this for a month, I promise, if you stick to that you will lose pounds and they will stay off.

Definitely weight watchers, you choose what you eat, it doesn't make you cut out stuff so you can still eat pizza etc but balance it with wise choices, really it's more about habit changing than dieting.

I have lost 11.5 lbs so far and still going strong!

i think that the best diet to be on is one with very few carbohydrates in. this is because the carbohydrates in bread and pasta or rice or something contain a substance that slows your digestive system down so more weight is put on

i hope this helps
