A lot of stuff used to happen at football grounds...
It is part of the general effort to make football more of a serious game played by adults. Do you see shop assistants running down the high street with their shirt over their head every time they make a big sale?

Its not just English players that receive yellow cards for removing there shirts. Any professional player, man or woman, who removes their shirt gets a yellow card. This was started when during a woman's international match, a player scored and removed her shirt. This upset many people, hence the yellow card rule.

I didn't know that. It's ridiculous not allow them to celebrate by removing their shirt.
The remove of the shirt used to be an act of demonstration of joy, happiness and relief of the tensions by a difficult victory...I think whoever decided to prohibit this, it's a great Hypocrite!

Better question is why do players get punished for removing the shirt for a minute??? And Fresh Prince, its the way 2 celebrate, it feels good to take off jersey and every1 celebrate on its own way, i just think its stupid that players get yellow cards for doing that...

If they do that they get an automatic booking a bit silly really I agree. That's one of the best bits about football lol! Or used to be - some still do it and don't care about being booked.

no teams are allowed take off their shirts - i think there's or there was a time limit on it like 3 secs or somethin. some find it offensive to see naked torso.
