Yes you have a DVD drive but you may not have the software installed to play the game that you wish to play. Read the booklet and see if there is a site where you can download the software it is usually free.

If you can play a DVD (like a movie) and watch it on your computer screen, you have a DVD-ROM (read only memory). You cannot create your own DVDs unless you have a DVD burner (designated by DVD-R or DVD-RW)

But interactive games may not always work unless the game is actually installed (set up) on your computer. If you put a game DVD in your computer and nothing happens, you need to click on:

start -> my computer -> then double click on the icon containing the DVD

Depending on the particular DVD, one of two things will happen. The DVD will operate normally and you'll be able to access the game, or, you will get a prompt to open or setup the DVD. That means you might have to create an internet connection in order for the game to run.

Hope this helps a bit.

Look at the front of your CD/DVD drive, usually on the front of the little tray that opens. It will have symbols on there that indicate whether the drive is a CD drive, a CD writable drive, a DVD drive or a DVD writeable drive.

If the drive is able to play DVD's, it is (an least) a DVD-ROM drive. Could also be a DVD writeable drive.

What kind of problems are you having with the games? If you post more detail, we may be able to help with the problems...

No. homestead windows 2000 and Xp combine DVD and CD-ROM drives (protected CD-RW and DVD-RW drives besides) right into a unmarried form of gadgets, like they do with Imaging gadgets (Cameras and Scanners customarily). A DVD ROM is fairly affordable to purchase at a Wal-Mart.

If you put a DVD into your drive and it plays via media player or another program, then yes, you indeed do have a DVD drive in your system. Check the front bevel of your drive, many manufacturers put the device model type (ie DVD, DVD-r +r, DVD RW, etc) right on the front. Also, check your device manager and see how it is listed in there.

Hope this helps.
