Yes witchcraft really exists !
Here are the different types of magic that I have heard of
Theurgy~ uses the power of the divine
Necromancy~ usually used to communicate with the dead
Thaumaturgy~ is ecstatic energy raising usually for healing
Ledgerdemain~ which is like slight of hand or more akin to stage magic but still utilzed by occultists to gain a certian effect (like muhammad putting birdseed in his ears so that it looked like the birds were whispering to him)
Sympathetic Magic~ where like effects like, voodoo dolls, poppets, other effegies such as drawings, pictures etc etc..it requires a personal effect for the person you wish to affect, for example blood, hair, swea,t fingernail clippings, belly button lint etc...
Ritual or ceremonial magic~ which requires alot of tools & pomp & ceremony
Divination~ is a method for telling past present & future events
sorcery~ which is a pragmatic magic that is more like a direct give & take...
those are all that i can think of off hand... Magic is not color coded, ( there is no black white pink grey red etc) magic is energy directed to achieve a goal or purpose...

Well, considering that I'm a Witch, yeah witchcraft really does exist. But magick does not appear as you see in books or movies. You don't wish for something or cast a spell for something then have it *poof* appear out of thin air. Magick is a way of raising and directing energy toward affecting a change. Not only do you cast your spell, but you have to act in accordance with the change you want to make. And the results of a magickal act are not always what you expect.

Yes it really does. In India among the tribal peoples there is a saying that a disease which does not have a cure form medicines can be easily cured with the help of witchcraft. Voodoo is one example which is prevalent in America. In this world every ethinic society has its own kind of witchcraft. You can see them in detail in National Geographic and Discovery Channels.

I don't know how the word witchcraft started. But remeber the lives taken in Salem, becuz some accused others of doing it upon them. I don't know if voodoo is witchcraft or not. But only witchcraft, we are going to see is the Harry Potter movies.
Then the other movies Hollywood has made, for all of us to enjoy. It don't hurt to pretend to have them.

There's an aweful lot of witches for witchcraft to not exist. As far as examples of magic, well, I see it every day. Here's one we recently celebrated.
Facing a difficult economy and with lots of layoffs in the news, my group decided about two months ago to do a ritual to improve or maintain our job situations. We each mentioned what we wanted. I wanted to get my contract renewed, as it was supposed to expire the end of this month, my boyfriend wanted to be able to work from home so he could move closer to me, my friend wanted to NOT get laid off, my other friend wanted job stability, and my other friend wanted a full-time tenure track teaching job, because he was tired of teaching part-time.
Well, my contract's been renewed, my boyfriend and I will be setting up his home office in his new house this weekend, my one friend managed to not get laid off even though a big chunk of his department did. Unfortunately, the one who didn't want to travel so much did get laid off, but she got a new job a few weeks later and had to leave town for it, I haven't heard from her since, so I don't know if it's better or not. My friend, the teacher, is getting ready to leave at the end of the summer for a tenure-track position at an upscale University down south.

Surely. It exists as a set of rituals and beliefs.
Does it "work"? Well ... depends.
The power of the psychological effects of witchcraft are very real. People have been known to die from being "cursed." People will "fall under a spell", if they know it is being cast.
But can you boil a newt's tongue, mix it with grave dust and mandrake root and cause the dead to speak? Probably not.
Witchcraft is as real as any religion, which is to say, "not very".

Yes, The bible speaks of witchcraft many times. Here are a few examples.
1 Samuel 15:23
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
2 Kings 9:22
And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?
2 Chronicles 33:6
And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
Micah 5:12
And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand; and thou shalt have no more soothsayers:
Nahum 3:4
Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the wellfavoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.
Galatians 5:20
Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
These are only a few, there are many more references to witchcraft in the bible.

Well, if someone believes in a particular religion because of things that supposedly happened through divine intervention, why should it be any different if someone believes in witchcraft? Wouldn't that be just another kind of religious belief?
