Having been single for many years. Then Married for 15. And now divorced and single again for the last 4 years. I choose SINGLE! You can date when you want, but have freedom and so much less grief and abuse that you do in some relationships. And as for being lonely, I have good friends and enough self awareness and imagination not to get lonely often. I'd rather be a bit lonely now and then than living back in the "prison" of lies and deception that was my marriage.

I am 45 and I am single never married sometimes I wish I were married and then I look at all the married folks and most of them are not really happy. They argue fuss and fight,or they are divorce. Then there are the kids that get caught in the middle of all of this.
Getting married is something that you have to really think about really want. But to get married after 40 only if you are really ready to give up some of your freedom and spend time with your wife.

I'm 48 and have been married for thirteen years. Yes, you do have arguments and compromises but it's with the person you have chosen to spend the rest of your life with. I've answered a similar question by saying that children give you your greatest heartaches BUT they also give you your greatest joys. Would I change things and be single if I could go back in time? NEVER!

This all depends on the person and or individual. Marriage is what you make of it and so is being single. Life is about choices and you have to make the right choice for you. As for me i want to be middle aged and married and with that special companion and not be lonely and miserable.
