He constantly harrasses the head of my poor elderly cat, I sometimes get the feeling he thinks he is a cat! He sits on my window ledge with the cat when he is in calm mode.

Maybe he does think hes a cat. I don't know what would make your rabbit act this way. Does it spend a lot of time in the house with you and your cat? Maybe he thinks your cat is another rabbit? Who knows!

He thinks the cat will attack him rabbits are afraid of cats because cats eat rabbits!
So he's defending himself!

Rabbits can be calculating and prankish. They respond to mental stimulation, initiate games, and interact with other living beings. These are things that people who live with rabbits already know.

This is what one site says. Give him playtime, excercise and attention.

i had the same problem a few weeks ago. my rabbit was jealous of the cat. hope u sort it out

My friend has a rabbitt that hisses at people and pounces on them. Maybe they were bred with a cat on acciendent.lol

is he fixed? if not he's just showing his dominance
perhaps getting him fixed will help cause our one male is fixed and he's all calm and docile and our male that isn't fixed can be a little terror
