When the rhyme gets down to just one little duck swimming one day, that little duck goes over the hills and far away to the party the other little ducks have been at for the past week or so and brings them back.

The mother duck says "quack quack quack quack" (translation - "get the hell back here you little buggers") and all the 10 little ducks came back.

Please note: The tenth little duck is a kiss ***.

It's a counting song and I believe it ends like this:

No little ducks went swimming one day,
Over the hills and far away
Mother duck said
'Quack, quack, quack,'
And ten little ducks came swimming back.
