There really is no way to tell for sure. Every case is different. From my experience, since you were only anorexic for 4 months, I would say you will get it in a couple more months. But really, EVERYONE is different. Every girl's body is different. Don't stress over it because that will keep it from coming back too. Good luck. And I'm glad you are over anorexia. However, parts of the anorexia will always stay with you. That part stinks.

Starving causes your body to stop working. Basically, your internal organs start to fail, including the ones that control your period (ovaries, uterus, etc). It is not a good situation, as you probably know. Once everything heals and recovers, things should start to work again, but it will take time depending on how malnourished you were. I've heard that in some cases it can take up to a year.

It's not a question of time. You need a minimum of 10% body fat to have a period. Your body also has to replace all of the iron and calcium you lost while starving yourself.
I am glad you are eating a healthy diet and I hope you can continue to learn how to love your body and how it works. Just focus on that, and your periods will come back when you are healthy.

I am 15 years old, an anorexic, and I never recieved a period. I have been in treatment for seven monthes and I still haven't gotten it. When your body finally reaches a healthy weight and readjusts to it, then you will get your period.

My guess you are still recovering. It may take something like a baby to make your body feel like being a mother. Thanks for telling us the secret behind anorexia. It's the kind of thing an abused person would be looking for...a non sexual life.

When your body is recovered. I can't say how long that is, but your body needs to keep anything it can.
