Because you will have calmed down after a while and can then have time to think of a really good revenge plan

TIT for TAT.
TOOTH FOR A TOOTH, A NAIL FOR A NAIL AN EYE FOR AN EYE.
A POUND OF FLESH WITH A DROP OF BLOOD
All are statements related to revenge or HATE HATE scenario.
We know the story of the FOX and CRANE each inviting the other for dinner and how lesson was taught by each.
If you act at the spur of the moment you may commit some mistake whereas if you wait allow the revenge attitude to calm down perhaps you may calm down and do not take revenge at all
So in such cases it is better to serve COLD
On the other hand if even after COOL down time you are not able to overcome the urge to take revenge atleast you ca n think over in a cool and calm atmosphere and various pros and cons and then pitch upon the best way to take revenge if unavoidable and may be it would be like inserting a pin inside a plantain fruit.
So smooth and a neat and clean job.

Because then its unexpected.

If you try and do something immediately, the other person is waiting for you to do something, they are expecting, almost pre-empting you.

If you wait a year, they will have forgotten that they ever did anything, they have no idea that deep down inside you've never forgotten, so when you have your revenge it knocks them for six.

Besides, if you wait until you have calmed down you can think of much better way's to pay them back.

Plus, if they really are an enemy, they won't neccessarilly be able to point the finger at you. Why on earth would you be responsible for whatever's happened a year down the line, all the other business was so long ago, etc etc

Cold or chilled or hot, why not at all? Cant we learn to forgive and forget? Forgetting may be hard, why not forgive?
Islam teaches us to exact revenge- which is a parable telling that revenge is not possible -if you have to exact it. Therefore Allaah ask that you forgive and forget and then promise to reward and exalt you. Think this way. therefore served cold can never be the best revenge, perhaps the worst.

It means to take revenge calmly, after you have had time to think. To act in the heat of the moment can result in a foolish act of revenge. To wait and consider, and plan, a revenge that will teach the person or persons a lesson is more productive.

if you serve it hot you have to put one of those symbols saying 'caution this revenge may be hot'. This often warns the person that they are getting revenge played upon them and they may drop it and run away. As far as I know there are no such restrictions on cold revenge

Because if you react immediately ... You are so angry, irrational that you do something silly, then regret it later. Whereas if you take time, think about it, then you can plan and owirk out on your revenge.

Having said that ... I think it is better to get even! I heard something pretty funny on the radio a few weeks ago, about getting even! A woman found out that her husband was having an affair. At first she thought of going to the woman's house, cause a riot but then decided against so she waited ... Her husband loved wine and had a large cellar with stacks of very expensive bottles. So!!! Two days before Christmas, she wrapped bottles and dropped them on her neighbours doorsteps, she got the whole lot of his precious collection away that way! And he could do nothing about it, imagine ringing someone's door bell and saying "I want my wine back" ... She explained that!!! She had taken extreme pleasure in telling him that she had treated his beloved wine collection as he had treated her their marriage!!! LOL

It gives you time to calm down, plan it out and savour the result.

Several years ago, a boss of mine gave me a bad review, totally unfairly (and he knew it - it was just because he had to give one or two bad reviews, and he thought I wouldn't complain) - which meant I didn't get pay rise that year.

I thought about handing in my notice, but instead I waited for a year, until I'd just won a £5million deal for the company.

Then I handed in my notice (having got myself a better job in the meantime), explaining to all the senior managment that asked that after the way I'd been treated the year before, I didn't think I'd get any credit for my good work.

It felt soooooooo good...

Revenge is not the answer. Leave it to the Universe , what goes around comes around, have patience, the higher powers will deal out any justice needed.

Because in the cooling off period you have time to logically think of a good way to get revenge and they might forget it's coming so you can catch them off guard.
