That SHOULD happen in the future. The hopeful assumption is that there IS a perfect system/regime that applies to people. And when it is perfect, it should apply to all people, which would eventually make laws global. It is already happening very slowly, just look around you...

Unity and consistency has it benefits, but the overwhelming force of self-govern-ship and self-autonomy is not something that should or could be done away with.
How about this, -for consistency sake, we need everyone to go to bed at the same local time, and wake up at the same time.
-You may gain something, but the cost is too much. And besides, criminal laws are based on societal customs. What honestly is a 'crime' in one country is a hobby in another.

That would never happen since people from different nations have different societies and the laws of one society would sometimes not be applicable to another. Difference in religion also matters as well as the types of government.

Yes, the laws should be the same for the whole world. I especially like the one "An eye for an eye"! We need that in the US & then just maybe some of this craziness will stop!

No, at least not now. I feel that UN itself is just a stage for "big countries" like USA, UK, Russia, France, China...... to compete against each other. However, I do think certain values should be globalized, like liberty, cuz many countries still aren't tired of using excuses like "threatening national security", "disclosing confidential information" to ban news and speeches.

Naw. The world is so diverse that the bureaucracy of trying to organize all of that and make each sovereign state agree to cooperate and then monitor to make sure that they really are in compliance is just too much BS.

Nope, I don't think laws should be globalized. Cultures are too different for that to work. What works for the U.S. would crash and burn in Norway or in Russia or in Egypt. It's impossible.

no european country would ever accept america's slack gun-control, nor american cosmetic embryo selection.
the un is not strong enough to force legislation on the us (or even zambia really).
