Enemy at the Gate is my second favourite. It gives a real insight into what the war was really like unlike most of the slop we see from Hollywood. Saving Private Ryan was also very realistic in the first half hour or so but the story line did not really inspire me.
I'll change that. Apocalypse Now is my favourite by far.

I think the best is Band of Brothers. Its actually a 10 episode tv mini-series, but nothing else made you care for the characters as much as this did. With so much time its easy to get to know the soldiers and their personalities. Not to mention that the 101st Airborne took place alot of the major events of World War II. Whereas one movie like Saving Pvt. Ryan takes you through the hell of D-Day, Band of Brothers follows the soldiers through the night time raid before D-Day, the securing of the local towns, Operation Market Garden, The Battle of the Bulge, and various other battles that may be small in scale but are big on action. Needless to say, if you haven't seen it, rent it or buy it, you won't regret it.

My favorite just isn't rather a movie, it's Band of Brothers, a television mini series produced through Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg amongst others. It is situated on the testimony of some contributors of the effortless manufacturer, so which you can trust the info there. I've been instructed Saving confidential Ryan is like Band of Brothers (it used to be directed by means of Spielberg), so it would be a excellent alternative.
