Hi,
We're on our last leg of our India tour and besides the poverty which is common on the streets, i wanna say, we throughly enjoyed ourselves! Goa was great, as was Daramsala where the Dalai Lama resides..the silver lining, ofcourse, was the visit to Darjeeling, The Queen of the hills! ..so they'll say.. We stayed at snowlionhomestay, which was run by a humble tibetan family. it' was a great experience for us to learn somethin about Tibetan culture and hospitality. We absolutely loved the food & Bed Tea & complimentary breakfast was something we used to look forward to every morning! The sheets were were always fresh too!
the tibetan staff were always cordial and helpful, be it to arrange for a taxi for some sight seeing or just to order a cup of darjeeling tea! The family presented us Tibetan scarves when we left...it was so touching...from darjeeling we went to gantok & stayed at Hotel delamare. the natural beauty of darjeeling, with the majestic Kanchenzonga range coupled with beautiful tea gardens made gantok seem like a poor cousin..Anyway so far so good, would love to visit india again...sophie.

It sounds like you had a wonderful time and you are not ready to leave. The experience has left a longing for more. It isn't uncommon to want more of a good thing.

It's a little like a beautiful dream that you don't want to wake up from, and when you do you try to go back to sleep and pick up where you left off. One thing is certain, you may have left part of your heart in India but you also have part of India in your heart.

I enjoyed reading you about experience in India, thanks for sharing.

I'm so glad that you had a good time.

Do come again to look for your heart which is now yearning to travel with you to the other parts of the country that you missed seeing this time. We promise to keep that part of your heart which is still here in safe custody till you can return to lose some more of it to other yet unexplored parts of the country.

Jaldi aana(come soon)

Sounds as if you had a good time!

I've left my heart in many of the places I've visited. I think this is because these places touched my soul and helped shape the person I've become today.

India has intregued me for many years! I'm so happy to hear your glowing account of your travels.

Thank you for the lovely blog at a place where we often find silly questions like 'Is it safe to travel to India?' - 'Do I get stonned if I eat meat in India?' etc.
