You should always have a towel to sit on, but I've hardly ever seen everyone covering up in the sauna, it feels better to be naked. A towel when walking around is optional, about half the guys use one.

When in the sauna you can wear nothing. Keep the towel to cover yourself if someone objects. In the locker room Wear the towel for modesty reasons. You can also just carry the towel in front of you if you are comfortable

It is best to wear a towel while walking around you can let it fall off once you get seated in a sauna you do not want to put your naked butt where someone elses naked butt may have sweated.

It depends on the dudes and whether or not they're gay. Put a towel for good measure.
