I think Australia and the United States should both be playing stronger teams in friendlies. They can only get better by doing this.

Australia might be better off playing teams from Latin America and Africa rather than British teams because the English game is similiar to theirs. Playing Asian teams would be counter productive - there's really nothing much to their techniques, skill or games - Asia is still the 'sick man' in international football. And somehow I can't see Australia as an Asian team even though they're in this group. Silly FIFA.

Why England and Scotland? We have just joined Asia. We can expect to play Asian teams often. I think Kuwait is lined up in August. Asian Federation is going to be so much better than Oceania ever was.

It is not as if England and Scotland are all that exciting.

That would be great but and its a big BUT what do you think the cost would be for the England supporters to follow the team like they have in this World Cup ?

A Football Ashes would be great for the game in Australia.

sure. a combination European, south American and African nations would be good each winter. we're already in the Asian grouping of nations, so playing against the other countries would always be of benefit. whether the overseas based players can turn up is another question.
