I've looked on the ca dmv website but I can't seem to find anywhere to request my own driving record. (I need it for insurance quote purposes) Do I really have to go down to the DMV? And, if so, does anyone know how much it costs?

Last time I did it was about a year ago and it cost $5 bucks, and I've never known anyone to get it any other way than to go there.

Go back to the website and get their number. Call them. They can fax it to a business.I don't live in CA anymore. I live in GA. I recently went into a DMV here and was amazed, no line. Oh I was about the 6th person in line and the people were complaining. I just shook my head because it was nothing like San Bernardino or East L.A. DMV. L.A. DMV is more like that place in the movie "Beetle Juice" where your number is in the millions.
