The gas inside a balloon will always have a pressure nearly equal to atmospheric pressure, since that is the pressure applied to the outside of the balloon. You fill a balloon with helium (a nearly ideal gas) to a volume of 0.580 L at a temperature of 18.5 degrees C. What is the volume of the balloon if you cool it to the boiling point of liquid nitrogen, 77.3 K?

V/77.3 = 0.580/291.5

V = (0.580/291.5) x 77.3 = 0.1538044 L

your volume will decrease greatly, not sure the actually amount of volume, but the helium will convert to liquid at that low of a temp, and remain in a liquid state at even lower temps, so of course you balloon would deflate and just hold the liquid helium, which you can then drink and when you pee it will sound very funny!

I don't believe the internal and external pressure are nearly equal.
It would be a higher pressure contained by the elasticity of the balloon material.

Mr.Mastermind p***** look at the question how can you say that the air in the ballon and out have the same pressure they are completely isolated from the atomsphere expect extra pressure acting on them.

umm, you must be a genius cause i cannot calculate that in my head or begin to know how to do it on a calculator. My IQ is in the gifted range and I am two years into college, but.... I suck at Math, probably cause I hate it. Good Luck, I am assuming this is on a quiz or something.
