The best way to find out something like that would be to Google a search for California Inmate Look-up, that will give you the main database of all inmates ever to have a DIN Number in the entire state. That will also list the Prison in which he is incarcerated, once you have done that, you can enter a search for the prison itself and you will be able to find out how you are able to have communication with any particular inmate. You will need the inmate's ID number from the site so keep that, that is the way that all mail is tracked.
