Actually, there is a French religion or rather belief where the leader named RAEL claims that cloning can be done i our days... Of course at a very low cost, he claims to be able to have clones made mainly to replace (or rather keep) loved ones alive... So if you lost your father, ect... he can do it from last I heard....

Of course, I always thought that even if so,,, the clone would not have the same memories as the original... It would merely be the some body but with another brain and heart....

It could be alright for soeone who lost their young child i supose,
but hardly to replace a father or a wife or husband....

The clone would have to agree to slavery as well without freedom
of his own, ad that alone make it questionable and immoral...

Human clones occur with some frequency by
natural means. They are known as identical twins
(or identical triplets, quadruplets, etc.). The idea
that a person could duplicate himself by cloning
is fantasy. He might produce another person with
identical DNA, but it wouldn't be him, any more
than identical twins are both the same person. It
would require that the clone have all the same
experiences that the original person had to come
even close to being the same person, and this
would probably be impossible.

We are able to make human clones right now, its just not legal yet that's all.

I don't think cloning will affect the economy in any way.

Neither, the world population only reached the billions in the 50's, and now it doubles every 7 - 10 years. Cloning people is just wasting space, unless it is for organ harvesting, which is kinda twisted.

Human clones is achievable. It is just a matter of legality and morality.

It doesn't affect or deep impact on economy. Impact on moral is much importance that economy.

How do you know "they" haven't done it yet? And how do we know who "they" are?
