I had an iud inserted about 4 months ago. I had lots of problems with it. Prolonged bleeding cramping, and just yesterday it fell out!!! The doctors told me that I may have an infection called cervicitis and it may have caused my cervix to open slightly an for the iud to fall out (which I looked up and found out that it can be caused by having an iud) now I am bleeding and I have to wait for it to stop before I can get any cultures taken to find out if I actually do have this infection!!! Now I'm not telling you that the iud isn't a good idea because everyone is different, and for some the iud is a great form of birth control! You should know that they usually will not put one in unless you already have at least one child and are in a mutually monogamous relationship

Everyone has different opinions on this subject. I would not get an IUD. This is because I have been to classes where they tell you that something being in there for that long can grow bacteria resulting in a very bad infection. Also, the IUD can implant itself into the uterous and the girl will have to have surgery to remove it. Very dangerous.

But some girls get it, and love it. So you never know.
