There are different types of gothic music,industrial is not my sort of thing,check out mandrake,a very good female gothic band.

The best truly gothic bands I've heard have to be Theatre of Tragedy, The Gathering and Lacuna Coil. I think Gothic bands have more impact when they have both male and female vocals, but then again, I'm not a very big fan of the genre. By the way, Cradle of Filth is actually classified as Gothic Doom or Doom Death.

check out the site it gives you a lot of bands and all. :P You should be open to every type of music though because listening to the same thing over and over could make you get bored of it and eventually you'll get out of that music scene.

Marilyn Manson is not gothic. If you mean Industrial or shock rock then it should be KMFDM or Ministry.

i hate it when ppl call manson gothic....he isint....hes with all the other industrialist and alternative heavy metal artists like NIN, Rammstein , Rob Zombie, alice copper and KMFDM and manson is not a reject in his own genre...MM is the real deal....any way my fav gothic bands gotta be german goth band OOmph!

Ghost in a Fog is Cradle of Filth, but they're black metal not goth. All the genres are so frickin' confusing now. My husband has to explain them to me all the time.

Please... gothic music is great but how can you put such names in to the genre when everything nowadays you can't really put anything in to genres as it is mainly all rubbish anyways!
Most of the older stuff is better though!

during my gothic period (sooooo much time ago!) i used to listen to the Cure, Smashing Pumpkins, Siouxie and the early Black Sabbath (i know they're heavy metal, but i liked them).

I cant remember the groups name but they sang 'Ghost in the Fog'.Loved the video and the song is great even got it on my ipod.
