Yuo could just make a project on which countries do speak English and whic do not put in some iteresting facts as about how the language travelled to those country and what else came along with the language to that country. Such as tea cultivation was brought into India by English rulers.

Here is one I like but never worked on:
How Eliza Bennet change her impression on Darcy and fell in love with hime in Pride and Predjudice.
or
From Pride and Prejudice ( Jane Austin) to Oliver Twist ( Charles Dickens), how English literature turns from describing "nobility and eegance" to pitying the poor.

They are fine topics that will really impress your teachers while not too demanding. All you have to do is get yourself a few DVDs based on the books and then write a review.

when i was in high school, i gave an oral presentation about one of my favorite things: jazz. i'm the type who doesn't like to talk in front of people. but when i presented something that i like, it was quite comfortable for me to speak. most of my classmates did not like jazz but i tried so hard to make it interesting as possible. and it was a success. i got the attention of everyone. they liked my presentation. i talked about the roots of jazz, the history, the famous musicians, and i even did a little show and tell. i brought my jazz albums and i played it for the class to identify the many types of jazz. they, my classmates, thoroughly enjoyed it!

my point is that, the topic must be interesting for you first. then only you find a way to make it stimulating for your fellow classmates. i think the best thing is to present a thing that you like and talk about it informatively. or a person you look up to. but make sure you're not talking as if you're reciting from a text. it should be in your own words. make your oral presentation, at least, colourful!

good luck!

way to be vague and give no criteria for th eproject by the way. you should just do a project on the history of oral projects. or something ironic like that so you seem clever. the history of school or of english class would be other interesting topics.
