What do you think happens when you die?

Do you believe

a) it's the end of everything, no afterlife etc
b) you are reincarnated
c) you go to the afterlife, whether that be heaven or hell, or the spiritworld

Or do you think something different happens?

i believe that death really is death. once your dead your dead forever. if life is everything that is then the opposite of life is nothing that is. but fear not for i believe that as you are dying your mind will go to a place where dreams come from where everyone that you love is there weather they are dead or still alive and everything you believe is good is there. unless you've been a bad person and in that case it will be the opposite (its your heaven and your hell as you see it.) this dream will last for an eternity but will all be over in the blink of an eye. although us humans see a second within a second, for a fly it lasts a lot longer. so although the end will be quickly over it will last forever.

You asked a priceless yet very vital question. If we all share the reality of this question, few indeed will be the man to wait upon any judge or police to put things right.
Death is not the end of everything, rather a beginning of an endless life. We came from somewhere. Recall the race in millions? The sperm that becomes you was chosen from a race btw millions of sperms. You won the first race. The second race was passing thru many stages of growth and development in your mother's womb [Read Quran 23v11-14] The third race was coming to the world xuccessfully. You were not still birth.
Now in the world, your lifespan is about 60-70 or less. You started from a 24 hours race as a spam, to 9months race as a sperm thru foetus, zygote stages and then to life of 60-70. I think this analogy- if you really get it suffice to prove to you that it just cant end like that.
The fathers scrotum [from the spinal cord] which produce the spam is too little to be imagined as the factory for ihe spam-yet that is the blatant truth. The womb [not the stomach] was your abode for 9months. Your entire sustenance was put in the umblical cord. Yet you survived? Now the world is so fast and your sustenance scattered about for you to find.
Man, if you think hard and deep, you.d get it.
All of this are analogy for you to know God the author, designer and fashioner of the world. He is waiting for your return to come and do an elaborate accounting. He has also prepared a far more bigger place for you -if you pass the test- as a reward for utilising your [reasoning[ well.
No reincarnation at all. Forget all those cooked stories, they are all deception of the detractors for the fibble minded.
You are just a frame piloted by the soul. You'd get to know this reality at death. Because you'd be lying on the floor and people will call you 'gone'. Rather than gone, you'd wake up to reality.
It goes on, But the point remains, do not be deceived, theres life after death and you'd certainly do an acirate accounting. Life is not an end in itself, but a means to an end. Quran 67vs1-3.

I believe we all go to a great world, where there is nothing bad at all. You can give it any name you like. Words are different in different languages. I do not believe that we can go to a place of fire and brimstone! I do believe the humans make hell here on Earth with all the bad that happens in it. It does not come from an all loving maker! If people do not learn to live and be without judging others, then upon the death of their body, their spirirt returns to Heaven, and a new body is chosen for them to return to Earth again. The spirit is born again on the Earth. It is after we do learn enough, that the spirit is allowed to stay with our Maker... and that's what I believe.

Actually folks you should read the bible for these answers. We can all have eternal life by accepting Jesus as your saviour. I've done it and I can tell you its one exciting ride. Not a dull boring monastic type life portrayed by some churches and the media. read the new testament especially the gospels Matthew mark Luke etc.
Its got to be better than coming back as a donkey, or just being burned with scattered ashes! What a waste that would be. Oh and you get a new body as well!

The Bible says: The dead know nothing,not a thing.you have no memory of your life or anyone in your life ( children,spouses,friends) nothing or no one.And on the day of judgement when the trumpet blows and the dead are called to come up it will be as though they had been asleep.The dead in Christ ( people who belived and were saved) their graves shall open and they that are in the graves shall rise and be caught up together with those living ( True Christians) And all their bodies will be changed.
I have been told by many,well meaning people that when a loved one or friend dies,that they have gone on to a better place,some say the dead are with God.so according to what the Bible says,All those well meaning people didn't really know what they were talking about! Ihad found comfort in their words after my mom died,then I(just recently) happened to read what the Bible says about those that die. It totally changed my life,my outlook on life and people that say they are Christains.So to me,the grave is a holding place for the dead until God comes for them!

I was in a motorcycle wreck in the '60's. When my face was a few inches from hitting the pavement at about 50 mph or so, I blacked out, and didn't feel a thing till I woke up in the hospital two days later. Then it hurt really bad. I think upon death, that's it, like a bug, or a flower, we are just gone. No white lights for me. Ron

it really depends on what you believe in. some people believe in a, b or c, some people believe that after spending some time as c (going to the afterlife) you are reincarnated (b).

personally, i think that your soul is still around after you die.

I prefer not to think about it.. As anything can happen but i have no idea what it will be. So it is better to shut my mind out from it and enjoy life now. Anyway i only have to face it when i die
