Most hotels do require a credit card. However, you can get a prepaid credit card at different stores and banks. Check your bank or try one of the larger grocery store chains. I know Kroger carries them.

Credit Card in case of room damage, but that is at more respectable hotels, i am sure some of the more economic ones will take cash up front, and a ten dollar remote fee.

You can use cash to rent a hotel room, but I'm pretty sure you have to pay the entire amount up front.
Best to just call the hotel and ask before you go.

It just depends on the hotel. Most cheap hotels don't require a credit card because usually the damage has already been done.

Just ask at the counter i.e. the receptionalist and get the perfect reply. She will tell u whether they accept credit cards or cash. Usually, if it is a huge amount then credit cards are accepted.

I believe they need a major credit card and a drivers licence or photo ID. Just in case you trash the room.
