It depends on the person's body fat and muscle weight, but someone can live for weeks, possible more than a month without food. But organs could shut down and kill him or her much sooner.

On a healthy adult the average length of time of survival without food is about 6 weeks. The woman whose feeding tube was removed probably didn't receive water because if she could drink water she wouldn't need a feeding tube. Thanks for your posting.

It depends a bit on the condition of the person. Someone in poor health to start with cannot last long without food or water. Remember the lady that had the feeding tube removed? I forget her name, but her husband wanted the feeding tube removed but her family wanted it to stay in? She lived for only a few days after the tube's removal.

You can do it. You won't have much energy, but you can do it. Some people say as long as a month. Not sure though.
