you have to go to the doctor for the prescription, but most pharmacies do not carry the pill. You also need to take it with in a certain amount of time after having intercourse. The pill prevents a fertilized egg from embedding into the walls of the uterus. Its cheaper and safer to use a condom or be on birth control pills.

The morning after pill is like taking 6 (i believe) birth control pills all at once. Depending on your location, you may be able to get it over the counter. If you're in Europe, just go to the pharmacy and they will sell it to you, I think it's about 15 euros. If you're in US, you have to go Planned Parenthood or your doctor and it's hundreds of dollars, probably around $200 or so, inusrance does not cover it. Be aware, as other stated, you can only take it within the first 72 hours, taking it the first 48 hours is advised.

It is availble over the counter in some places. You can go to the pharmacy / chemist and ask for Plan B.

Where you need a prescription, call planned parenthood and they will sell it to you at cost.

It is a high dose birth control pill that makes your uterus shed, creating a period. So, if an egg was fertilized, it can't implant and you won't become pregnant. You have to take it according to the instructions within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse or a broken condom.

The morning after pill also known as Plan B decreases the chances of getting pregnant after having unprotected sex. You have to take it within 72 hours for it to be fully effective. It's only available through presciption.

Sometimes the "morning after pill" prevents pregnancy by preventing ovulation (the release of an egg from your ovaries). At other times, it causes an early abortion by preventing the already-conceived child from implanting in your womb. If the baby can't implant, he or she starves and dies.
