I can only concentrate on one novel at a time.

I usually one concentrate on one at a time. But sometimes I will read one at home, & a shorter one on during breaks at work or while I am travelling.
The books I read are either tied in together so it does not matter if they get mixed up, or so radically different that there is no way the can be confused.

For me, 2 at the most: one at home, and a different one at work. Keeping them separate like that helps me to keep the plots from getting mixed up. But when I do that I don't get as involved in them as I do if I concentrate on one at a time, it's like reading and watching tv at the same time.

I sometimes have three books going at one time and no I don't get the stories mixed up. Once you start reading it all comes back to you. I love to read, sometimes I wish I could read faster, but then the story probably wouldn't totally sink in. I f a book is extremely good, I'll even go back and read it again afew years later.

I usually don't read more than one at a time, but when I was in school, I had to read 2-3 in addition to whatever I was reading for fun. I usually don't get them mixed up.

I have been known to read as many as 4 or 5 when I was still a student and had my recreational reading alongside my school reading. Now I rarely have more than three. One is kept by my bed, one at work, and one in the bathroom!
Keeping track of multiple books is no more difficult than keeping track of the story lines of multiple television shows. In fact it's easier because in books, you never miss episodes!

I sometimes have two novels on the go. I have one I'm reading on the way to work and one I read at home.

I often have 2 going and occasionally 3. Once I had 2 at home but on travel got involved in another on a plane but left it at the hotel with my bags. I had an unexpectedly long break at lunch and got another one started.
So, for me, 4 is the most, so far. ; )>
