I almost feel this is a set up for a joke or something, however I will answer. Yes, it could be harmful since you could contract a disease through her blood. Condoms are not 100 percent when it comes to disease or babies for that matter.
Secondly it's just "NOT COOL" so don't do it. Just wait, it will be worth, believe me.

Hi! you know what accrdg. to some specialist having sex with your girlfriend while she has a period is not a very serious matter to talk about because having sex with her is not a big problem. Did you know that this is very safe than your doing this when she don't have a period. because she did not get preggy.

Don't. Wait for her period to be over before you have sex. Its not actually harmful but its gross, I've heard its painful too. But if its ok to your girlfriend, ask her first, if she said yes then go ahead. Anytime she feels pain and discomfort, stop!

I don't think there's any harm in it. It's a personal decision. Some guys get turned off by it. Ask her, and if you both want- ok.
