well ... if you would indeed swallow your tongue you wouldn't taste anything. the tounge is the organ responsible for tasting, mind you. you you were to eat it, it would probably be severed from it's place and wouldn't be able to communicate with the brain to tell it how your throat, stomach and guts taste like :)

According to cannibals it taste like salt.Much like beef with more salt than you need.I eat cow tongue for dinner sometimes.
