Here is a great website
I have been clean now for about 6 years so I know I could tell you but it is best to read it for your self.
Good luck keep in mind that a user will keep using until they are
1 removed from the situation
2 get in to trouble by the law
3 express whatever is bothering them in the first place
Also even though this will make you mad you have to try with all your heart to be understanding. It is hard to see you kids hurting them selves but they must learn. You are the one that can turn them around.

First and foremost, you need to talk to your teen without being confrontational. All teens go through changes, and behavior is one of the things you will see them change. If your child is high, the eyes are usually a give away, i.e. their pupils will be larger than normal in a room that is well lit. Don't be accusational, as you could drive them away and further into abuse. Often, they will neglect their personal hygiene, if they were known for being hygienic before, and they will sometimes sell off their things to get more drugs. Take your time with this one and good luck.

acts different than usual, goes out with friends and come in without checkin in, red eyes, talks funny, talks less or to much, is hiding from you most of the time, not eating or eating to much at once, look at his eyes are the pupils dilated? or red? does he make sense when he speaks in he defensive? trust your eyes, and don't just jump into conclusions, speak to him/her as a daily routine and you will eventually find out.

Open the lines of communication, talk to him/her is the best way and most effective. Make sure its 2 way communication and listen to him/her. If he/she is using addiction will never go away and any treatment requires his/her consent & cooperation.
