This is a real answer, ok? We never spoke about that. We were on the lottery system, at all depended on when you were born. My number was in the 30's and upon turning 19y/o that was my number, I had 30 days to show up for service. It was on the news every night how high the lottery went. I think it got up to past 200, each day of the year being a number between 1 and 365. We were too young to care about politics. We were doing what we were told by our President, and most of us did. But in the 7 years I was in, I don't remember the subject coming up as far as what one was as far as democrat or republican. Ron

What's the use of asking? They are all dead so long ago...
When they were ordered to go there and die there, nobody asked for their political belief...
