We must compete because the ultimate goal of mankind is survival.
Man will rise and fall to any extent necessary to fulfill that goal.

Competition is a part of life. Competition is all over the world is normal is how we get better at things. Oh and about the purpose thing maybe some peoples purposes are very simple like having to give advice to someone. Just the idea that every has a purpose in life maybe overrated.

We all have "a" purpose. But obviously we don't have the same purpose. Oh, in the larger scheme of things maybe the purpose of life on this planet as we know it- that's the same. But we're individuals here and now, we're separate. Maybe the purpose is "not" to be separate. I guess I'm differentiating between long term and short term goals- really. Our "short term" purpose or goal is different for each of us. Until we recognize the same purpose or goal as the next guy, we will continue to compete.

DUDE!!! face reality this is just a loser advice to make you feel comfortable being a poor loser. There is no purpose at all. You, just you create your own objectives and desires. It's animal instinct. we just happened to be here in this place called earth, we are just like any other animal but with brains working better.
Our inner purpose, is live to better, have a nice girl and don't work obligated. Its very easy to make a list of things everybody likes so if you don't have this stuff in your life, sorry you're just another dreamer. Learn with life, there is no place for weak people. be a man of action and do it what it makes you feel good(since you're not harming anyone). hope it helps. :)

Society along with evolution has caused great discoveries and inventions to be created to aid man in living more cultivative and comfortable lives. Nonetheless, the side effects of these wonderful happenings is the need to be competitive for things other than what humanities basic needs for survival are.

Money, is a distraction, but at the same time to survive "successfully" it is a necessity.

We, and life in general, may not have a "purpose," as we understand the meaning of that word. We compete, fight wars, kill our neighbor because it is part of the plan to produce improvement. The weak are removed by such actions. Sorry, but it is true.

We do not compete with everyone. We are a social creature, and form groups to survive.

Competition is a method of growing stronger, of measuring one's strength against others, so that we learn our limitiations and how much we need to improve ourselves. Without competition, there is a lack of benchmark for where we stand in relation to the rest of the world.

We don't have to compete! The problem is society makes us feel like we have to. If we would listen to, God, our hearts, and follow what we hear them tells us to do then we would really follow our purpose since it comes from God. But we get to busy listening to outside voices and then the trouble comes.

Our sole purpose in life is to help others. But in this generation, nobody cares about any purpose. People want to live just because it is painful to die. They want to live only a happy life. That makes them greedy and selfish. Thats why they push the so-called weaker people to the dogs, just for their own benefit. Who cares about the purpose?
