Saddam has nothing to do with OUR gas prices. it was the hurricane in louisiana that made them go up. also it's not like we can go in and take all of Iraq's oil. it's not our country to control. it still has a gov, the last time i checked. just the leader has been over thrown. also it's the summer so the gas prices go up cause everyone goes on vacation and such.

Our oil primarily comes from countries other than Iraq. Gas prices are set by a commission of petroleum producers, who base it on demand. When demand for gas rises, so does prices...when demand recedes, prices go down in order to encourage more purchases. There is a limited amount of oil left in the world, and it's growing smaller every year. Expect that gas prices will continue to rise - as a consequence of continued lessening supplies as well as increased costs incurred by gas companies to find more oil in new places.

Unlike the drumbeat of leftist anti-American propaganda promulgated both abroad an within the U.S. including the self-serving "wannabe" intellectual, Michael Moore, U. S. troops did not enter Iraq for its oil or to enrich Dick Chaney. Iraq's oil belongs to Iraq. Its infrastructure have not been rebuilt yet so a lot of the oil has not entered the world market yet. This is largely due to terrorists in Iraq who continue to make ware there.

The price of oil depends on the supply and the demand for oil. China's demand for oil now equals that of the United States. When the demand increases and the supply goes down, the price goes up.
