Ah, if by jamming you mean improvisation, there's plenty to work on. Mastery of your instrument, ear-training, and the appropiate idiomatic vocabulary, or "licks". Find a private teacher to help you on that; you've got years of practicing ahead of you.

I actually learned by going to places where musicians hung out & started jamming - ie. bars, parks, streets, music schools, etc.

The way to learn to jam is to jam. Bring your guitar with you everywhere & be ready to jam at a moment's notice. Many of the blues guitar greats never took a lesson in their lives and learned by jamming.

Never be shy to jam with someone who's better than you or resistant to jam with those not as good as you. You can learn something from everyone you jam with.

Rock on,
George

When someone says "I'm going to jam" means they are going to practice or play around on the guitar. Find someone that knows how to play guitar to help you
