Become a volunteer at a orphanage, an soup kitchen, travel to distressing parts of the world and stay for a while. These type of actions may inspire a sense of compassion in your heart.

Start to use some of these confidence-boosting techniques
1-Practice gratitude - be thankful for what you already have and put your attention on all the blessings you already possess.
2-Evaluate Your Relationships - Assess the relationships in your life. Do they support you or sabotage you?
3- Start New Relationships - Identify people that have the qualities you admire - people you feel you could learn from and who could learn from you, as well.
4-Get into a Good Group
5-Change Your Behavior
6-Take a Risk A Day - The best way to bolster your confidence is to start doing things you are afraid to do. Make a list of risks for you and start to do them one by one.
Hopefully this would help you

Experience hard times. It seems to me, the ones who are overly confident have usually had their every need catered to. Nine times out of ten, mommy and daddy never said no. Try driving a beat-up vehicle, wearing clothing from Good-Will, or working a job like waitressing. These all made me into the humble being I am today.

Do stuff that isn't likely to be lethal. Enough mistakes and you'll get more of a balence as to what you are capable of.
