Relax. Don't push yourself too hard. Patience is a great key to happiness. If you are not happy with everything right now, be happy with something. At the moment, I am happy because I have clean sheets on my bed and I love the smell of fresh-washed cotton. Clean sheets are not that big of a deal, but appreciating them added to my appreciation of other SMALL things creates general satisfaction with my life.

Go see your doctor and make sure you aren't clinically depressed. If you have no insurance, make your parents pay for it. You deserve to feel well. If you hate everything in your life, start changing. It really is difficult, but it's also kind of easy. Start with the simple stuff--get 8 hours of sleep a night BUT NO MORE! Get out of bed--drag yourself out--and don't lay down again until night. Make sure you are eating properly--a good breakfast improves mood. Exercise!! Free to do and a great mood enhancer. Wear your hair differently, eat something new, try a different route to work. I have cancer. I can tell you that a crappy life is better than the alternative, and as long as you're breathing you're capable of change. Volunteer for an organization you admire--you will meet new people you have something in common with. DO NOT COMPLAIN to them about your life--force yourself to talk about more fun topics, to thing about interesting things. Stop playing your own personal blues album--give yourself permission to put your problems aside. Now that summer is here, find the free concerts in your area and go. Even if you feel down, acting happy by doing normal well-adjusted things will actually make you feel better. Best of luck.

Daaammmmnnnn....you are MISERABLE!! First of all, you shouldn't be confused at why you do not have many friends...you sound like you are not too much fun! Plus it is noone elses duty to make you happy...happiness really does come from within, so you had better search for something that makes you happy! You can choose to have a crappy life or you can get off the pity pot and LIVE. Don't TRY so hard to be happy and have fun..sometimes life is not fun and alot of times its hard to be happy. Volunteer or get a hobby man! Good Luck.

Exercise. It really does work to make you feel better.
I also hear that a study was recently published in a medical journal that concluded that listening to upbeat music turned up really loud lifted peoples spiirits.
Lastly, I would urge you to go to church. Even if no one you know will go with you. And even if you don't talk to anyone while you are there. Being in a church can fill you with a peaceful feeling. Don't give up, no matter what!
If you need someone to talk to leave a comment here and i will respond, I promise.

Best of luck to you in feeling better. It does get easier to cope but it takes time and working through why you feel so down before you can come out of it.

Your background story would help a lot to addres this issue because people get depressed for all sorts of reasons, and there is no single cure except you really find true meaning for your life. Best is to see a counsellor. (S)he can get the full story and give appropriate advice.

Try also to find something to do that adds value to other people. You will find joy and happiness in that.

Participate in social activities, for example get yourself involved in a volunteer activity. Go to a fitness center for exercise, you can find there some people like you. I did those before and both helped!

Seek out counseling. Something is keeping you in a depressed state. If you really desire to be happier, then you should be willing to do this for yourself. There's no shame in asking for help, only refusing it when it's available.
